From: Rob K For : The Editor (for publication) Subj: "BigBrother" is ISP Self Preservation Measure? It just occurred to me... With shared liability for psychocriminal behavior being forced upon ISPs (for such things as allowing predators to use a service or hosting a hate/porn site), it's possible that the big brother tactic spelled out in the contract merely represents a pre-emptive strike to head off any possible liability in future law suits. hmmmm..... Could it be a lawyer was involved? That's gutsy of the ISP to put it in their contract like that: "We're a government spy and you're being watched 24/7 whether you like it or not." How long will it be when it's required of all ISPs to do this? WARNING: Absolute Power Currupts Absolutely! Rob K Baton Rouge, LANow Have Your Say
