From: Martin Wehipeihana For : The Editor (for publication) Subj: You were right about Asia Online Check out http://www.idg.net.nz/news Herald chief denies cyberwar "W&H CIO Garry McKenzie says he does not believe there was a Chinese cyberattack or a problem in the W&H network, but misconfigured software on an Asia Online router." From: Philip S For : The Editor (for publication) Subj: SIS hacking into our computers I was reading this and what came to my mind was who exactly are they going to get to teach them how to do this? It isn't always as easy as 1 2 3, if someone wants to keep their data secret they are going to have firewalls on their computer. Will they be incorporating the services of the people they have caught hacking or will an computer security company be able to tell them how to get around the likes of BlackICE, Zone Alarm etc etc who a lot of people are using due to them being easily available. If they do use the services of a convicted hacker will they be encouraging the hacking youth to hack more, to help the government (which many of them dispise) or to come clean and start working legally in maybe a computer security company to help companies defend themselves... Well thats my two centsNow Have Your Say
