Well, if you drop the WWW, then you're in...

Although todays column has inspired me, I'm now going to
suggest to "she who must (sometimes) be obeyed" that we
ditch the Sky Dig, and funnel the saved funds into a DVD
machine... this nearly 30 year old is sick of The Angry
Beavers on Nickelodeon being the only decent thing on, not
to mention the fact that most of the programmes get so
thrashed, that they are repeated after about 6 weeks :-/

Oh, and if you try http://skymail.co.nz - make sure you go
grab a cofee, or read the rest of the Aardvark, cos it's
still DAMN slow...

For those of us in rural areas, Sky TV is a great thing.
Receiving tv 1 -4 and Prime in crystal-clear digital
reception is of more value to our house than the sky
channels are.

The latest update has had one benefit unmentioned so far -
the TV Guide is responding much more quickly now. Almost
like it was before the last update.

I'm still a happy digital Sky customer so far. My wife
loves the Living Channel, my kids are glued to Nickolodeon
and I'm a Discover and Prime channel addict (especially the
Star Treks reruns, including the latest Enterprise series
starring Scott Bakula).

Plus in Dec they're starting channel 99 called Shine aimed
at Christian viewers.

All in all, we're hardly ever on TV1, 2, 3 or 4 except to
watch the 6pm and late night news.

I'm happy cos I'm using Sky for what it was meant to be, TV
entertainment, not internet surfing.

I dont know what planet you live on, but when I had sky,
the quality of the FTA channels on it was worsened by that
of discovery and cartoon network.

They say they have quality picuures, but that is not the
case when the FTA TV1 etc picture that I get of a 20 year
old piece of metal on the roof is better, the nicam sound
is also a lot better then that on sky digital.
