Subj: Flat rate?

I have a flat-rate plan with Paradise. I call it that
because I have *tried* to download tons of stuff in a month
and so far I have yet to break 25% of my cap!

Any user that wants/needs to download more than 10Gb at
128k speeds is going to be making lots of savings in other
areas - like having a life!

I suspect these people have friends around for movie nights
thanks to Kazaa and the like.

Never mind, I left Actrix years ago when they hacked me off
with their service.

Subj: Jetstart

I use Jetstart / Jetstream starter. When my ISP did not have a cap set, I
tried not to be a pig, and used around 3.5 per month. Due to other
people's excesses, a 10G cap was placed on the service. Now, I make sure
I get 9.90G per month out of my subscription. If my ISP were to change to
$149.95 per month, if I decided to stay, I would make sure I get $149.95
worth of value each month.

The point is: when an ISP tells you that you are allowed to use xG for
$y, or go unlimited for $z, that's EXACTLY the consumer behaviour they
will get. I see no advantage in charging $149.95 - all you get is
customers that will USE that much. Customers that don't need it will move
on.

I have no problems with what they did, makes sense on many
levels. The problem is their timing. You didn't mention
that the new fees start from Jan 1st and you have to give 30
days notice to close your account.

While I am sure this will be adjusted this time, they could
have timed it better.

Subj: Cordless Keyboards and Mice

recently I had a thought that a cordless keyboard and mouse
would be convenient to let me surf from my lounge..... only
thing is "why is a mouse sold separately??" To me is seems
strange to have a 'cordless' keyboard and then have to find
a surface for the mouse to be used on. Why don't they
build the mouse into the keyboard? Or am I being
impractical wanting to use my computer without all the
cables lying in my lounge. Does anyone sell a cordless
keyboard with mouse built into it (be it trackball,
whatever).
