Every now and then, I have a rant about idiotic fuel-saver devices and you'd think by now people would have woken up to the fact that these things are just a scam.
Well it looks as if many of the once-gullible purchasers have woken up to the facts -- but there are still some who try flogging these worthless devices for outrageous prices.
A reader sent me a link to this TradeMe auction as if to prove the point.
And look at the claims... why would you not just rush out and throw $200 at the seller in order to gain all those benefits?
I mean, let's face it, anything that can enhance and align vibrating molecules at a microscopic level has to be pretty bloody good -- doesn't it?
Who wouldn't want to improve the motion characteristics and electronic transmission characteristics of their vehicle?
But surely the biggest selling point has to be that there's no wiring, no plumbing, no setup, nothing to calibrate or adjust. You simply insert it into your vehicle's cigarette lighter socket and *bingo* -- you may see the same 9.2% improvement in fuel economy that the Hong Kong Productivity Council achieved -- although oddly enough the only reference to these findings I could was this.
In my quest for knowledge however, I discovered this seller's site which goes into much more detail about this truly amazing device.
Amazingly, the E+ "contains a super fine energy in the vibration spectrum". OMG! Really?
Apparently it is manufactured using "an advanced proprietary technology EEFIT - Efficiency Enhancement Field Induction Technology". Woohoo... that sounds super-neato! Don't you think?
But let's cut to the chase... here's how it works:
"The high voltage current created during the spark plug ignition generates instable electromagnetic waves, which can cause interference to the metal atoms of the car. It affects the movement of electrons and the ability of electric current to transmit signals, thereby affecting the performance of the car. The energy released by E+ can optimize the interrupted electromagnetic waves, enabling the electrons to vibrate in alignment and minimizing the loss of electronic signals in the process of transmission. As a result, the overall performance of the vehicle will be enhanced and the capability of the engine will be fully utilized"
Of course... it's just so obvious now that you've been told -- isn't it?
But I do wonder what an "instable electromagnetic wave" is though? Must have been invented since I got my education in the sciences I guess -- that's progress for you!
Surely this couldn't just be -- a capacitor in a 12V cigarette lighter adapter -- could it?
Of course not... only a rogue and a vagabond would attribute such magical qualities to a capacitor and only crook would try to sell such a thing for $200.
But good old Nick Wang doesn't stop there with his fancy EEFIT technology. No, he's able to use it to make a device that will wildly enhance the handling of your car and even saves you replacing your worn shock-absorbers!
Check out X-Chasis
Like the E+ energy plug, this little beauty also runs on high-density gobbledygook by the sound of it.
Read this and prepare to be impressed:
"While a vehicle is in motion, the vibration produced by the engine, frame and chassis will lead to the mechanical resonance amplitude of metal or polymer materials. Meanwhile, the mechanical resonance will produce a sonic interference (the source of noise), which results in an interference to the molecules movement of the frame, chassis and body of the car. This leads to a disorderly and chaotic motion of these molecules in the microscopic level, thereby affecting the dynamic equilibrium of the vehicle in motion."
"X-Chasis Vehicle Stability Regulator releases a super fine energy vibration spectrum which can regulate the interrupted operation of the disordered molecules and sonic interference so that they will vibrate in alignment. As a result, the balance, control and the overall handling of the car will improve. The installation method is to put three X-Chasis Vehicle Stability Regulators in a triangular formation inside the car. According to laws of physics, triangular shapes are not affected by horizontal movements, and this set-up will ensure the stability and effectiveness of our products".
What? No reference to morphic resonance? Come on Nick, surely you could fit that in there somehow.
So reach for your credit card now and you'll get a set of steak knives and a diploma in gullibility that you can hang on the wall to really impress your friends.
Sigh!
