When history is declared hate speech by big tech

23 April 2025

When I sat down at my desk this morning to check my email, I spied a message from YouTube.

Apparently one of my videos has been removed and I have received a warning for "hate speech".

OMG... what horrible thing have I said or done that deserves such a rebuke and a censure?

I reviewed the video and was gobsmacked at just how ridiculous the modern world has become and how ideologically twisted big-tech has made itself.

The video was titled "Why did this WW2 jet fighter have no pilot?" and is just over two minutes long.

Even more interesting, there's not a single word of dialog in the video.

There is not a single word of text displayed in the video.

In fact, the video is nothing more than an accurate scale model of one of the very few jet-powered aircraft to have flown in WW2, the Heinkely He 162.

How can this be considered "hate speech"?

Well I suspect it's all down to the period-correct paint scheme which includes a swastika on the vertical tail surfaces.

WTF?

I have appealed the removal of this video which is obviously ludicrous, especially in light of the fact that there are a great many other videos of the He 162 on other channels that also clearly display the Swastika and they're seemingly unaffected.

Of course I'm sure that this has *nothing* to do with the fact that I've been calling YouTube out on its total unwillingness to deal to those scam-ads that now fill almost every ad slot when watching videos. I've regularly asked YT via X when they're going to be doing something about this and pointed out that if they allow such ads to continue running for weeks after they're reported then this amounts to conspiracy to defraud on their part.

They wouldn't be so petty as to be seeking a bit of utu would they?

Nah, it could never happen... (Cue Tui's ad?)

Should we be worried that this is, yet again, an attempt by big tech to force its own ideologies and perspectives on the rest of the world?

What is it they say? "Those who ignore the past are doomed to repeat its mistakes".

I know what... let's pretend that the entire second world war didn't happen. Think of how much happier we'll be if we ignore the sacrifices that so many made in order to protect our freedoms -- you know, the freedoms that people today seem happy to cast aside in the name of convenience anyway.

How timely is this... it's ANZAC day in a couple of days. Will anyone remember?

Will YouTube ban any videos covering commemorations by calling them hate speech too?

Carpe Diem folks!
