Join the SWMAC
Our goal has been to keep the cost of membership in the SWMAC to a bare minimum
so as to make the hobby more affordable for everyone.
To this end we've set our subscriptions as low as we can (far lower than most other clubs) and these are the rates for the 2010/2011 year:
| Senior members (18+) | $75 |
| Junior members (under 18) | $35 |
| Associate members | $20 |
The senior and junior subscriptions includes affiliation with the New Zealand Model Aeronautical Association (NZMAA) which also provides public liability insurance -- manditory for flying from the club's Tokoroa Airfield.
Associate membership is only available to those who are already members of another NZMAA-affiliated club.
Remember that prospective new members can always try out the hobby of RC model flying by coming out and having a go with our club trainer model. It has dual controls and an instructor ready to take over if you have problems.
If they wish, new members can learn to fly using this trainer before investing in a plane of their own.
