The Warehouse launched its Online Direct Internet shopping site on Saturday with an initial inventory of 200 products.

Within minutes of opening its virtual-doors, the cash-registers started ringing. Almost 3,000 visitors in the first two days produced over 50,000 hits and interest in Christmas gift items has been very strong with items such as chocolates and toys being most popular amongst purchasers.

Developers of The Warehouse site, FaxMail, say that launch went very well with significant amounts of very positive feedback. The Warehouse has become the anchor-tenant of FaxMail's Superstore Net-shopping site with a number of other household names in the retail industry already preparing to establish a SuperStore precence.
