First it was The Domain Name Company who sought to earn money from companies by registering domain names and then leasing or selling those names to parties which might want them.

Now an apparently new firm has started a similar trade but this time dealing in generic domain names.

Locu Marketing Solutions has bought up a number of generic domain names such as movies.co.nz, money.co.nz, magazine.co.nz and the like with the stated intention of leasing them to others.

No doubt some will consider this to be somewhat "borderline" when it comes to ethics and perhaps it's time for ISOCNZ to make some kind of decision as to whether they are going to endorse this type of domain-name trading.
