Can't afford Sky TV but want to watch the live cricket or
Winter Olympics? No problem - one enterprising individual has
been broadcasting the Sky Sports channel across the Net for
several months now and anyone with a
RealVideo player can
watch it for free.
Sky TV are aware of the unauthorised broadcast and hen asked yesterday, Carol White said "We first became aware of the broadcast late last year but we thought they'd stopped". The broadcast which can be seen by anyone with a RealVideo player is found pnm://202.27.186.58:7070/live and appears to be run by Paul Swafford who has so far been unavailable for comment. The Web site and RealVideo server operated by Swafford appear to be connected to the Net via a christchurch system NetAccess.
