Lighten Up 8 December 2000 Edition
Previous Edition

Just when I thought we'd almost run out of crazy stuff to use in Friday's Lighten Up section an kind reader sent me this site:

Hats Of Meat
Apparently Mark Twain once said ""One always looks neat, in a hat made from meat" -- do I believe that? I don't know -- but this site is real loon territory.

First Preselyterian Church
Elvis may be dead, and probably never had a hat made of meat, but that doesn't stop some crazy people from wanting to immortalise him by creating a religion in his name.

Have Your Say

Only 17 Sleeps To Christmas
You know you're getting old when it seems to take less and less time each year for Christmas to roll around again -- and I feel positively ancient because I simply don't know where the past 12 months has gone.

However, since it is the season to be merry, and since there will be a lot of people scratching their heads to come up with gift ideas for today's hi-tech warriors, I'd like to get some feedback on what the most desirable hi-tech gifts are this year.

Clearly the new PlayStation 2 must be high on the list of many of the nation's kids, but what else is there that would bring a smile to Aardvark's readers if found under the tree on Christmas morning?

Tell me what you hanker for and I'll publish the most popular or unusual suggestions (anonymously of course).

This year I'm also soliciting some predictions. Tell Aardvark's readers what you think will happen over the next 12 months in the Internet, hi-tech and new-economy areas.

Just a reminder also that the time is rolling around for the annual Aardvark Awards in which you, the reader, are invited to select the best that the local Net has to offer.

Aardvark Weekly, Have You Got Yours?
The first edition of the new Aardvark Weekly has started shipping and most of those who subscribed before yesterday should have already received their copy.

If you submitted a subscription request yesterday then you'll be getting a confirmation email shortly, followed by your copy.

Please feel free to fire your comments back at me -- remembering that this is the first edition so I need that feedback in order to tailor the Weekly's content and format to your preferences.

If you want to subscribe, just drop me a note and I'll put you on the list.

As always, your feedback is welcomed and...
