After experiencing a major problem on the weekend, it appears that
Netway has had further trouble with the US-end of their international
internet links resulting in an outage which has lasted since around
1:00pm today (Tuesday).
Reports indicate that a digital switch located at GlobalOne in Stockton,
USA has failed, as happened on Saturday.
Perhaps the ISP most affected here in New Zealand is Xtra,
the largest service provider in NZ to be solely reliant on Netway for
their international connectivity. ISPs using Telstra or Clear's
international circuits remain unaffected.
Aardvark is hoping to receive a press release from Netway shortly
and expecting an official statement from Telecom/Xtra soon.
This story will be updated as soon as such information arrives.
