It's time to call an end to the insanity of wokeism and the trend towards inverting the very fundementals of democracy.
In a story published yesterday by the NZ Herald it was revealed that race is now a factor in prioritising patents for some forms of surgery, including cardiac surgery.
Yes, it appears that if you're not of the right ethnic origins (and that means you are non-Maori) then you are less likely to get the treatment you need to preserve your quality of life or perhaps your life full-stop.
"Several surgeons say they are upset by the policy, which was introduced in Auckland in February and gave priority to Māori and Pacific Island patients - on the grounds that they have historically had unequal access to healthcare"
WTF? I thought were were a country that once marched in the streets to protest overt racisms, now we have a government that mandates it?
I'm sorry but this is a step way too far.
Nobody today should be held accountable for the actions they had no control over and to which their connection is simply that of being a descendant. I don't want to see Maori being forced to pay fines and reparations for bringing about the extinction of the Moa and the raising of forrests in their hunt for same.
Nor do I want to see contemporary Maori being forced to atone for the crimes of their forbears who treated women so poorly, committed acts that would today be considered race-related murder, etc.
And likewise, I don't think that non-Maori NZers ought to be penalised, villified and blamed for the actions of their ancestors.
Our laws, our regulations our rules and absolutely *everything* should be race-agnostic or we ourselves become no different to South Africa in the 1980s.
Should Maori get priority treatment for life-threatening illnesses -- yes, but only if that priority is given *only* because their individual case merits such a priority. Just as if a non-Maori is so ill that their case deserves to get priority. Race must never be a factor in deciding who lives and who dies or we are committing genocide.
The world has gone utterly mad and anyone who supports this kind of racism or genocide and bullying gets zero respect from me, regardless of which race is being discriminated against and which is being favoured.
What kind of civilized, intelligent nation accepts this sort of crap from their overlords?
"Some surgeons, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, said the new scoring tool was medically indefensible. They said patients should be prioritised on how sick they were, how urgently they needed treatment, and how long they had been waiting for it - not on their ethnicity"
It's not just "medically indefensible" it's morally and ethically indefensible. Whoever came up with this policy needs to be prosecuted under hate crime legislation and the Human Rights Act.
Health Minister Aeysha Verrall was quoted as saying “The reformed health system seeks to address inequities for Māori and Pacific people who historically have a lower life expectancy and poor health outcomes” -- to which I would ask "how much of this is due to lifestyle choices made by those groups?".
Maori and Island people are disproportionately represented in smoking and obesity statistics thus are more likely to suffer from self-inflicted diseases such as type 2 diabetes, heart issues, etc. Are we saying that non-Maori/Island members of our society are to be punished for choosing to take a greater responsibility for their own health by having less access to life-saving surgery?
Absolutely unacceptable.
People were hung after the Neuremberg trials for genocide -- yet we pay these genocidal policy-makers huge salaries out of the public purse. Welcome to Nazi New Zealand.
Carpe Diem folks!
