This is not good: WEF

21 January 2026

The 2026 meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF) is about to take place in Davos, Switzerland.

Remember that the WEF is a collusion of self-interested parties who adhere to the doctrine of "you will own nothing and be happy", something that is already being forced down people's throats by a growing number of companies and corporations.

If the WEF was just a bunch of old white men in suits, looking for an excuse to rack up some air-miles and max-out their expense accounts then I wouldn't be worried but this year they're claiming that there will be "close to 3,000 cross-sector leaders plus a “record” 400 political leaders, 850 top company bosses and 100 tech pioneers (according to this report).

This means we're talking about people with power and influence; decision-makers who are in a position to implement the ideologies espoused by the WEF -- hence we should all be worried.

There are many who belive that the WEF's motives and goals are far from altruistic or in the public interest. They claim that this organisation represents a global conspiracy to create a new world order with a massive division between those who rule and those who are ruled.

When you look at the composition of the attendees list there are good grounds to be concerned, if the motives are what is alleged.

Key figureheads in the AI industry are lining up to be there, including Jensen Huang of Nvidia who has already begun pitching the concept of "GPUs as a service" as the company significantly reduces the manufacturing of GPUs for purchase by the public.

While some bill the meeting as simply a great place to "network" and rub shoulders with their peers, I have no doubt that a great deal of planning will be conducted in closed-group meetings as strategies for changing the very fabric of our society are discussed.

US President Donald Trump will also be attending and if there's anyone who has an eye on the money and his own best-interests, he's the one. Any and every opportinity for gain will doubtless be exploited by Trump, regardless of the cost to others outside the USA.

The offical agenda for this years meeting is a focus on: "the geopolitical environment, AI, climate and nature, new sources of economic growth and 'people and preparedness'".

Preparedness for what, I wonder.

And note that AI is right at the top of the list.

In the wrong hands, AI is a powerful catalyst for change and a pervasive "influence" on decision-making and perspectives.

It was once said that "he who controls the media, controls the minds of the masses" but in 2026 and beyond, that should be updated to say "he who controls AI controls the minds of the masses" -- and that is a huge worry.

Whereas "the media" used to be a huge group of people, all with their own ideologies, beliefs, political affiliations and objectives, AI is in the hands of a far, far smaller number of corporations. It becomes far easier for those corporations to collude with political powers and enact their agendas than it was for governments to influence a disperate media in days-past.

Take Google for example... it has cleverly all but replaced the results in web-searches with an AI-generated summary. The claim is that this allows thousands of references to be condensed into a few short paragraphs, boosting efficiency and productivity. As a result of this, formerly popular websites have found that the amount of traffic referred to them from Google has fallen dramatically. People are no longer even checking the sources cited by Google's AI, they "trust" it.

Now imagine what happens when politicians or corporations return home from their junket at Davos and decide to start implementing some of their new ideologies. All Google has to do is to "adjust" its AI to lend weight to the beliefs and biases that align with those ideologies.

Result: an instant change in public opinion and perception, brought about in an incredibly subtle and perhaps almost undetectable manner.

Maybe I've got this all wrong and "the new world order" is a great thing. Perhaps we *will* all be happier in a state of delusion brought about by carefully shaped AI outputs and owning nothing will bring us the joy we so strongly desire.

But probably not.

Carpe Diem folks!
