There's always two sides to every story they tell me and never has
this been more obvious than when two wildly different press releases
describing the same event arrived yesterday.
On the one hand we have this press release from Industrial Press, the publishers of Bits & Bytes and NetGuide (voted best Internet-related publication of the year in the 1997/98 Aardvark Awards). On the other hand there is this press release from IDG, publishers of such dead-tree journals as Computerworld, PC World and the online computer-news site, @IDG. It is clear that the art of "spin-doctoring" is not the domain of our politicians alone. Figuring out exactly who won is left as an exercise for the reader. Related stories from the archives
